Its been over six months since I last went on a run. So last night i put on my running shoes and did it. It was only a little 2 Km run but it still felt good and the morning after doesn’t feel that bad either.
Why the sudden change of mind and actually go for a run? Sure I have regularly thought that I really must do one but the weekend saw a big mind set. Standing in front of the mirror on the scales the signs were all there, I need to get back into share. Something changed, something has made me really determined to make a difference. So lets see how things go.
As you can see, the pace and distance were nothing to shout out about, but it was a start!
Its January and now the Christmas and New Year excess of food and drink has finished I decided to start the Fitness and Health kick in earnest.
So after the first week I have lost a whole Kilo in weight, so happy with this. So what I have done so far? The plan is to start slow. not to make any dramatic changes after all the plan is to makes live changes in small steps, this needs to be sustainable not just a quick fix!
The main change this week has been to only eat 3 times a day. This has been a big change for me, as beforehand I tended to snack all day long. I have a light breakfast at around 10 am, lunch at 2 pm and dinner around 7.30 pm and that’s it. If I feel hungry between meals I just drink water and the hunger pain soon goes.
Although this is a fairly small change I’m really pleased with the weight loss for week one, a real boost and definitely helps with the motivation. Exercise wise this week, I’ve only manged one short 2 Km run and daily Plank exercises for around 30 secs.
I recently came across a neat website called Kitchen Stories URL: https://kitchenstories.io/en It is a great website that has some really good recipes as will as giving great tips and advice on how to cook.
For an novice like me it has really given me some inspiration to cook, each recipe is well laid out and clearly and simply shows you how to prepare and cook . Even I can make some fantastic plates of food.
The iPhone app is great as well, giving you the ability to produce shopping lists to get all the ingredients you need along with the saving your favorite recipes.
Just had a great weekend stay at Broughton Hall Farm, a Caravan and Motorhome Club CL site in Stonham Aspal, Suffolk.
The site is located at the rear of the Farm House and has well maintained grass pitches with each on having electric hookup. Water and CDP are also in easy reach. The site is in the heart of the village and only 1 mile from Stonham Barns, which has a mix of Shops, Garden Centre, Owl Sanctuary and cafe, A great place to spend a few hours.
Even though we went in the middle of November the ground was well draining and we had no issues with access on and off site. The track from the main road to the site is tarmac and well signed. The site also has good wi-fi.
Had a lovely autumn walk from Stonham Aspall to Stonham Barns via Green Lane Farm. A 9Km walk across farmland. It took as 3 hours but that did include a walk round Stonham Barns and a cuppa in the Cafe.
A chilly day yet bright and sunny made from a refreshing walk.
The new iPhone X is now out! the question is do I get one? Sure I love the look of it, the size, screen, FaceID whats not to like? But I have the iPhone 7plus Its only a year old, it’s in good condition and works fine. So can I justify the huge £1000+ cost.
Currently, I’m on a standard 24 month contract with O2, so currently I can only upgrade my phone every 2 years. So, I’ve been looking at the Apple ‘iPhone Upgrade Programme‘. which would allow me to pay around £55 a month (which is the same as O2) and yet I can get a new phone every year and not the 2 years on O2.
What to do? Well at the moment every time I try to join the upgrade programme it says the daily intake is full. Guess they are trying to tell me something.
I think next step will be to take a look at one for real at an Apple Store.
I got brave enough today to weigh myself and I knew i’ve put a few pounds on, but not the amount the scales displayed. I’m slightly embarrassed to report that I’m 90Kgs! I know 14 Stone, how did that happen?
So today sees the start of the big fitness plan, My goal is to get to 75Kgs in a year, there i’ve said it publicly, set myself a target, by December 2018 I’d like to get to 75Kgs that a loss 15 Kgs or around 3 stone.
Firstly I need to stop eating junk, I eat far to many biscuits, crisps and convenience food, not only that I eat it all the time, grazing all day.
Secondly, I need to get more exercise. Currently I do a little, mostly walking the day twice a day, but that doesn’t really burn the fat. At school I was good at cross country running and I did enjoy it also, so this evenings task is to read up and start running.
